Paddleboarding is game changer
Paddeboarding is a game changer! You might have heard us talk about our “Passeio InterNacional em SUP 2025“. In case you missed it, let me tell you all about it!
In a partnership with Sociedade Portuguesa de Literacia em Saúde (SPLS PORTUGAL) we created and developed this 2 hours SUP in Ria Formosa. The main goal was to contribute to a better inclusion of migrants and refugees working and living in Cabanas de Tavira using as tools the teaching of new skills namely the Paddleboarding technique and the understanding of how balance in water works. We also highlighted the importance of visiting the beautiful region of the sup ria formosa.
HOw did the sup ria formosa go?
We managed to have in total 34 registrations from imigrants and portuguese with some vulnerability, economically speaking. From those, 21 did come to our SUP tours in Ria Formosa! Our guests came from different places in the world, mostly from Nepal and Portugal, but we also got guests from India, South Africa, Mozambique and Brasil.
Exploring sup ria formosa offers a unique perspective on the natural beauty and biodiversity of the region. Being able to offer this kind of adventure… an that they would not normally choose either for financial reasons or because they simply could not swim, was very fullfilling for us at Eolis. We felt amazed by the power water has… of course it can be very scary if you don’t have any experience in it but as soon as everybody understood that the wetsuits and vests would always keep us floating the inner childs appeared and dazzled us! So beautiful to see an adult remember joy and surprising pleasure in a pure way. For that reason alone our “job” was something to be proud of.
